Cole White, the Bucs' 42nd-round draft pick in 2008 out of West Point, has come to an agreement with the Army that will permit him to resume his professional baseball career. White had played well for State College that year, putting up a .338/.404/.455 line, but policy changes to the military's alternative service option forced him back to active military duty, where he's been spending the intervening time commanding a tank platoon.

White had been hitting brilliantly, and it was a shame when the military told him (and fellow 2008 draftee James Simmons, who still hasn't returned) that baseball would have to wait. White will return to State College, where he'll attempt to get used to play pro baseball again.
