The Sporting News placed Pitt 19th in its preseason football poll giving the Panthers another top 25 ranking.
The publication also listed Dion Lewis as a top five Heisman candidate and placed several Panthers on its All American teams including Lewis and Jason Pinkston (1st team), Greg Romeus (2nd team), and Jonathan Baldwin (3rd team).
