Bucs Dugout On Taillon

Bucs Dugout (read: me) argues that high school pitchers, including excellent ones like Taillon, represent too much risk with the second overall pick in the draft. Generally, hitters selected early in the draft tend to succeed more often than pitchers, who often hurt themselves before age 25, and often in career-altering ways. Taillon is a great high school pitcher and there’s no reason he can’t be a star in the majors, but there are so many things that can go wrong before that happens.
