With play resumed, Paula Creamer has put herself in position to claim her first major golf title. Despite swelling in her thumb, she’s risen to the top of the leaderboard and has a three-stroke lead heading into the final day.
Since the rain suspended play on the second day, Creamer and some others will begin Sunday completing their third rounds. Still, with a nice lead and as the only player under par at -1, she is in good shape to win the title.
Also making some noise is 15-year old amateur, Alexis Thompson. Thompson is currently shooting a -1 during her third round through 15 holes and has rocketed up to a tie for fourth at +4. #1 ranked player Cristie Kerr is struggling in her third round, shooting +5 through 13 holes, dropping her into a tie for 11th.
Those who missed the cut included Juli Inkster, Michelle Wie, and Se Ri Pak.
