Former Pitt and Kiski Area player Chris McKillop is taking a crack at coaching, serving as a graduate assistant at Duquesne University. McKillop was a three-year starter at Pitt, and he and his brother Scott were key members of Pitt’s defenses this decade. He seems determined to make it to the NFL one way or another:
↵↵↵“Since I can’t play in the NFL, I want to coach in the NFL someday,” Chris McKillop said. “Somehow, I’m going to get to the NFL.”

McKillop was unable to latch onto the New York Jets squad as a player after attending their minicamp back in 2008. He then was scheduled to play in the Arena Football League before it was canceled in 2009.
↵If given the opportunity, I think he could turn into a good recruiter. At 25, he’s still very young and will be able to relate to high school recruits. He played at a D-I program and he’s a local guy. He could turn into a quality assistant in a few years.
