The theory of ‘Nothing good happens after midnight’ was proven yet again early Sunday morning when Pitt DE Jabaal Sheard was arrested following an altercation on the South Side:
↵↵↵“We are in the midst of gathering information on a weekend incident involving Jabaal Sheard,” said Pitt athletic department spokesman E.J. Borghetti. “While we conduct our own investigation Jabaal has been indefinitely suspended from team activities.”
↵
Sheard is expected to be a strong contributor for Pitt this season. The lone bright spot is that since this happened during the off-season, Sheard could be back without missing any games. Still, with training camp coming up soon, missing valuable practice time isn’t an ideal situation.
↵If Sheard does miss playing time, it could mean less pressure on opposing quarterbacks, and an unproven secondary will be tested even more.
↵Sheard faces a preliminary hearing on July 28th, so he likely won’t be cleared before then.
