Pitt's Jabaal Sheard Arrested

The theory of ‘Nothing good happens after midnight’ was proven yet again early Sunday morning when Pitt DE Jabaal Sheard was arrested following an altercation on the South Side:

“We are in the midst of gathering information on a weekend incident involving Jabaal Sheard,” said Pitt athletic department spokesman E.J. Borghetti. “While we conduct our own investigation Jabaal has been indefinitely suspended from team activities.”

Sheard is expected to be a strong contributor for Pitt this season. The lone bright spot is that since this happened during the off-season, Sheard could be back without missing any games. Still, with training camp coming up soon, missing valuable practice time isn’t an ideal situation.

If Sheard does miss playing time, it could mean less pressure on opposing quarterbacks, and an unproven secondary will be tested even more.

Sheard faces a preliminary hearing on July 28th, so he likely won’t be cleared before then.
