WB/S Penguins Sign Andrew Orpik

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced a signing with a familiar name today:

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed right wing Andrew Orpik to an American Hockey League contract, it was announced on Friday.

Orpik, 24, spent most of last season with the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL). The 6-3, 200-lb. forward posted 22 points (10G, 12A) and 38 penalty minutes in 35 games

Andrew Orpik is brother to Penguins defenseman Brooks. Orpik the younger figures to compete for a spot in the AHL but is more than likely going to be organizational depth for Wheeling.
