New, 2 comments

Durand Johnson became Jamie Dixon's third basketball commit for the 2011 season today. Johnson is a three-star recruit as rated by both Scout and Rivals.

Johnson selected Pitt over more than twenty schools including Georgetown, Louisville, and Xavier. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, he was recruited by Brandin Knight. He confirmed to the NBE Basketball Report that 'Pitt was it' for him:

“Pitt,” said Johnson of his choice. “It was the perfect fit for me.”

Johnson's commitment could close out Pitt's 2011 class as the team is expected to have three scholarships available with the departures of Brad Wanamaker, Gary McGhee, and Gilbert Brown after this season.
