Pitt SS Dom DeCicco was named to the 2010 Jim Thorpe Award watch list, given annually to college football's top defensive back.
In 2009, he started all 13 games for the Panthers and racked up 88 tackles and three interceptions. Last season, DeCicco was named to the All Big East Second Team. He will be the leader of a secondary that lost departing senior CB Aaron Berry to graduation last season. WVU's Robert Sands and Brandon Hogan were also on the list.
↵Eric Berry of the Tennessee Vols won the award last season and other past winners have included Deion Sanders, Charles Woodson, and Roy Williams.
