The Daily Collegian is reporting that Penn State running back Brandon Beachum will sit out 2010 as a result of an injury he suffered last season.
↵↵↵A joint decision was made by the coaching staff and Beachum to have him take a redshirt and sit out the 2010 season, allowing him to further recover from the torn ACL in his right knee he suffered in late November.
↵
Beachum wasn't likely to see all too many carries in Penn State's crowded backfield this season, where veterans Evan Royster and Stephfon Green are joined by a pair of impact freshman in Curtis Dukes and Silas Redd.
↵Though he'll likely be in the hunt for the team's starting spot upon Royster's departure after the season, it's hard to see the Lions missing him too much in 2010, so it's probably a good thing that he'll be taking the rest of the year to recover.
