The Diamondbacks have released Bobby Crosby, one of three players they recently received in a trade with the Pirates for catcher Chris Snyder. Snyder is off to a slow start offensively for the Pirates, but his defense behind the plate has been a big improvement over Ryan Doumit's. The Diamondbacks have received very little in the trade - D.J. Carrasco is a functional reliever, but Ryan Church was and continues to be a waste of time, and Crosby is now gone. The acquisition of Snyder was that rare deal where the Pirates gave up very little and got a useful player because they were willing to take on salary. It's nice to see the Bucs be on the winning side of that kind of trade for once.
