Due to the broadcasting rules, the Penguins are set to appear on Versus and NBC the maximum amount of times. Given the Pens' high ratings and the star power of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, this comes as no surprise.
↵The highlight will of course be the New Years Day matchup at Heinz Field against the Washington Capitals, and it’s worth noting that three of the four season matchups against Alex Ovechkin and the Caps will be on national TV. Other than the outdoor game, this includes a February 6th Super Bowl Sunday matinee matchup, for the second year in a row.
↵Pittsburgh will open their season and the brand new CONSOL Energy Center live on Versus on October 7 against their cross-state rivals the Philadelphia Flyers.
