Well, this game has started the way no Mountaineer fan wanted. The Herd marched down the field on their first possesion, leading to an early touchdown by Anatavious Wilson. The drive’s key play was a 55 yard scamper by Martin Ward in which the Mountaineer secondary over-played and got beat. Robert Sands made the tacj;le and then left the game briefly with a shoulder injury. He’s back in the game now as Marshall is driving.
The Mountaineers drove to FG position, and took three, but there was some questionable play-calling by Stew on a 2nd down inside handoff to Devine, and then Geno risked interception on third down, though luckily converted the throw.
An auspicious beginning indeed. Stay tuned ’Eers fans….
