West Virginia Extends Football Series With Maryland Terrapins

It's Maryland Terrapins week here in Morgantown and in the spirit of this border rivalry, it was announced today that WVU and Maryland have signed a contract to extend their football series through 2017.  This year's game is the first in a four year contract, which was extended by an additional four years.  Each team will host four home games and travel to four away games.  The series alternates sites until two consecutive games in College Park in 2013 and 2014, and then two in Morgantown in 2015 and 2016.  The contract ends with a game in College Park in 2017.

Maryland and West Virginia have a long history of meeting on the football field which was interrupted for the past two seasons, as Maryland added California to their schedule while the Mountaineers added Auburn.
