Barack Obama To Name Hines Ward To President's Advisory Commission

Barack Obama will name Steelers receiver Hines Ward to his Advisory Commission on Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders, the Trib reports:

The commission coordinates with government agencies to get more Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to take part in federal programs for businesses, agriculture, economic development and several other fields.

Ward, voted the Most Valuable Player in the Steelers' Super Bowl XL victory, was born to a Korean mother and black father. His Hines Ward Helping Hands Foundation helps mixed-race children who face discrimination.
