For the first time since many summer surgeries to repair a torn tendon on his foot, as well as clean out infections that kept occouring, Jordan Staal talked to the media today.

Not too much solid information was revealed, though.

Among the highlights were Staal saying he “isn’t sure when he be back in action … there have been a lot of ups and downs in the recovery.”

↵

Staal has not been able to work out or get on the ice since having the procedure to clear an infection in his foot, but on a positive note, he is “not feeling any pain at all.”

↵

Staal knows it won’t be easy to work back to game shape, but he does expect to resume working out next week, although he is still unsure when he will be able to skate.

Staal is expected to be out of the lineup for much, if not all, of October.
