Youngstown State Jumps Out To Early Lead, Robert Bolden Shaky

With one play, an 80-yard touchdown pass to Domenique Barnes, the YSU Penguins have jumped out to an early lead on the Nittany Lions, 7-3, at the end of the first quarter.

Robert Bolden looks OK in his first start, but appears to be throwing the ball as hard as he can at times. He led Devon Smith a little too much on a wide open pass, and missed an open Graham Zug on a deep ball at the end of the quarter.

Evan Royster and Stephfon Green have split carries; neither, however, have been able to get much going. All in all, the offense appears sluggish. However, they are likely holding back their playbook (though if this trend continues, they might be forced to open things up).

Anthony Fera looked strong on kickoffs and one punt, while Colin Wagner nailed a 44-yard field goal.
