The Legend Of Pitt Recruit Steven Adams Grows

Pitt 2012 basketball recruit Steven Adams was a relative unknown earlier this year. Ever since he committed to the Panthers, his stock has risen significantly.

While Scout still doesn't have him ranked in its system, Rivals now lists him as a four-star recruit and the 46th-best player in the entire 2012 class. NBE Report places Adams even higher, ranking him as the 26th-best player and fifth-best center in their initial top 50 rankings for 2012.

Even if he doesn't wind up sticking that high, head coach Jamie Dixon deserves a lot of credit for managing to find him, practically in the middle of nowhere in New Zealand, when no other school could. A lot of things can happen between now and 2012, but if he winds up enrolling at Pitt, Dixon could have a special player on his hands.
