Pitt 2012 basketball recruit Steven Adams was a relative unknown earlier this year. Ever since he committed to the Panthers, his stock has risen significantly.
↵While Scout still doesn't have him ranked in its system, Rivals now lists him as a four-star recruit and the 46th-best player in the entire 2012 class. NBE Report places Adams even higher, ranking him as the 26th-best player and fifth-best center in their initial top 50 rankings for 2012.
↵Even if he doesn't wind up sticking that high, head coach Jamie Dixon deserves a lot of credit for managing to find him, practically in the middle of nowhere in New Zealand, when no other school could. A lot of things can happen between now and 2012, but if he winds up enrolling at Pitt, Dixon could have a special player on his hands.
