Mountaineer Freshman Medically Disqualified

Incoming freshman forward Darrious Curry has been medically disqualified from playing basketball for the Mountaineers.  Head coach Bob Huggins released this statement:

“Darrious has had extensive medical evaluations by numerous physicians, and they concluded it was in his best interest to no longer play basketball,” says Huggins. “He has been medically disqualified based on a medical condition that we cannot disclose due to student privacy laws.

“We’re in the process of obtaining a medical exemption, and we expect Darrious to always be a part of the Mountaineer family.”

Curry, a 6-foot-7 forward, was expected to help the Mountaineers replace forwards Da'Sean Butler and Devin Ebanks who have departed for the NBA.
