Michigan State defeated Wisconsin tonight in overtime at the Breslin Center. Certainly good for Penn State's RPI for the Spartans to avoid another loss there after the upset on Saturday.
Jeff Brooks remains quiet with only five points thus far. Illinois isn't letting him get free at all.
This has turned into a classic Penn State-Illinois tilt. Neither team is pushing the pace, neither team is scoring particularly well. Nothing can really be reminiscent of that 38-33 Penn State win a few years ago in Champaign, as that was just awful basketball that may have set the game back 50 years, but this game very much has that feel pace-wise as. It has lulled the crowd to sleep.
Talor Battle just hit what must have been a 35-foot 3-pointer with the shot clock expiring. That one woke the crowd up.
With 11:42 to play in the game, Penn State leads Illinois 42-40.
