Illinois Vs. Penn State Second Half Updates: Under 8 Timeout

The building is still buzzing from that deep Talor Battle three. The radio booth just speculated that the shot was beyond 40 feet. I'm not good with distances, so I can't tell you, but man, was that one deep. Illinois did everything right defensively that possession and still gave up a trey. Special player.

Talor Battle has started to take over this game. He's up to 21 points on the evening but has been suspiciously quiet on the glass. He doesn't have a rebound yet.

Personal fouls are starting to mount for Penn State. Andrew Jones has three, and Jeff Brooks and David Jackson each have two.

Billy Oliver has shaved his beard.

Mike Davis has missed a couple point blankers for Illinois here in the last few minutes. Really, about the easiest shots you can get.

Penn State is making stops but not cashing in on the other end.  Eventually, a team as good as Illinois is going to punch back. The Nittany Lions need to make the most of their opportunities down the stretch here.

With 7:51 to play, Penn State leads 44-43.
