Illinois tries another double highs screen for Demetri McCamey but this time he misses the jumper.
Things are really getting dicey now. Illinois is using all of the clock on its possessions and getting good shots. Penn State seems to be rushing things and trying to make fancy passes. This isn't the time in the game for that. The Lions need sure looks at the bucket, and possessions have to end with the ball in the hands of the big scorers, Talor Battle, Jeff Brooks and David Jackson.
Illinois fails to convert on another double high screen up top. You get the impression that the Illini think one jumper is going to break Penn State's back at this point. Penn State needs to score on this possession at 1:35 to eliminate the possibility of coming down the floor down one with a minute to go.
Andrew Jones just tip slammed home a Talor Battle miss with .7 seconds left in the game to put Penn State up by two. Now it's Hail Mary time for Illinois.
The students are lining up to storm the floor.
Game over. Penn State 57 Illinois 55. Penn State has consecutive wins over ranked opponents for the first time since 1954. That was Penn State's only Final Four season.
Heading down to the press room. Stay tuned for more later tonight.
