Penn State Vs. Ohio State First Half Updates: Halftime

Ohio State is missing a lot of free throws. The Bucks have been getting to the foul line, but it seems like every time they do, they split. That bodes well for Penn State, but the Lions can't keep putting them on the line and expect them to win. Eventually, Ohio State will find its stroke from the stripe.

Penn State is shooting over 60%. If you've watched the Lions at all this season, you know it's going to be difficult for them to keep that up on the road. Penn State needs more stops.

Talor Battle is doing a good job of letting his teammates touch the ball. He's still finding ways to score himself, but the offense isn't running through him, and that's a good sign for Penn State.

The half ends with Penn State and Ohio State tied at 32. Here's your stat pack:

  • David Jackson leads Penn State in scoring with 12 points. Ohio State's big scorer is Aaron Craft with 11.
  • Jared Sullinger leads the Buckeyes with five rebounds in the half. Jeff Brooks leads the Lions with three. Ohio State holds a narrow rebounding edge overall, 11-9.
  • Penn State shot 60.9% in the half, a huge numbers for the Lions. Ohio State was right around its season average at 50%.
  • Penn State had five turnovers. Not bad, but Ohio State was better with only two in the half. Lions will need to stay clean to hold on here.
