The No. 2 Penn State wrestling team tied its best start of all-time Friday night when the Nittany Lions crushed No. 22 Pittsburgh 30-7 before 5,527 at Rec Hall. Penn State improved its record to 12-0 and now prepares to take on Indiana on Sunday before hosting No. 10 Iowa at the Rec next weekend.
↵Pitt's Anhony Zanetta got Pitt on the board first with a 14-5 major decision over Penn State's Eric Caschera at 125 lbs. The Lions' Brad Pataky was out of that spot with an injury.
↵It was all Penn State from there, though.
↵The Lions got wins from Andrew Long at 133 lbs, Andrew Alton at 141 pounds, Frank Molinaro at 149 lbs, David Taylor at 157 pounds, Ed Ruth at 174 lbs, Quentin Wright at 184 lbs, Nick Ruggear at 197 pounds, and an upset from No. 6 Cameron Wade over No. 3 Ryan Tomei at 285 lbs.
