Sunday night, Robert Bolden Sr. set the internet ablaze by telling the press that his son, freshman quarterback Robert Bolden Jr. would seek transfer from Penn State, and seek transfer he did. He didn't find it, though, as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ron Musselman is reporting that Bolden was denied his release after meeting with Joe Paterno today in State College.
↵↵↵Bolden's mom, Tonia Williams, told The Post-Gazette that Joe Paterno did not grant her son his release.
↵"I don't know the reason why, they just said they wouldn't release him," Williams said from her home in suburban Detroit.
↵"I don't agree with it and Rob doesn't agree with it," Bolden's father said.
↵Asked what their next move would be, he said: "We're going to try and sort that out now."
↵
At this point, one can only speculate as to why Paterno wouldn't release Bolden, but if the amount Robert Bolden Sr. has said the past few days is any indication, you have to wonder if Paterno decided to put his foot down and not let a talkative parent meddle with his program.
↵And so, the Bolden drama continues. In case you were wondering, Bolden is bound to Penn State by his scholarship. So long as he is under scholarship at Penn State, other schools cannot contact him and he cannot accept a scholarship from another school for at least a year.
↵Stay tuned.
