The Pittsburgh Penguins are hosting the Washington Capitals on Thursday, and they could use all the help they can get with the defending Eastern Conference points champions. We know that Sidney Crosby won't be playing, and now it appears that Evgeni Malkin won't be playing either.
Malkin has missed the Penguins' last two games as he continues to nurse what is only being described as a "lower-body injury." The Penguins didn't seem to have any problems putting goals up in their 4-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday, but it might be tough sledding against the Washington Capitals, who figure to be a more formidable opponent.
We'll have more on this game and Evgeni Malkin's injury as soon as more information is made available to us, in this StoryStream. For more on the Penguins head over to PensBurgh. For more on the Caps, check out Japers' Rink and SB Nation DC.
