College Football Rankings: LSU First In Initial BCS Rankings, WVU Ranked No. 15

The first Bowl Championship Series rankings of the college football season were released Sunday evening, and the SEC has commandeered the top two spots, with the Big 12 owning positions three and four. The LSU Tigers are number one in these initial BCS rankings, followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide, Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys.

West Virginia checks in at No. 15, and is the lone representative from the Big East Conference. Five SEC schools made the week one BCS rankings, with the Arkansas Razorbacks (9), South Carolina Gamecocks (14) and Auburn Tigers (20) joining LSU and Alabama.

The biggest surprise on this list, and perhaps in all of college football this season, might be the Kansas State Wildcats. Bill Snyder's undefeated team is ranked No. 11 in these BCS week one rankings.
