College Football Rankings: WVU Mountaineers Ranked No. 14 In Week 7 USA Today Coaches' Poll

Despite having the week off last Saturday, the West Virginia Mountaineers (5-1) climbed once again in the USA Today Coaches' Poll. West Virginia is now tied with the Virginia Tech Hokies for No. 14 in the nation, up from No. 17 in the previous poll. In addition, WVU is the only Big East team ranked in this poll, though the Cincinnati Bearcats (5-1) did receive some votes.

The top five held steady from last week, with the Oklahoma Sooners (6-0), LSU Tigers (7-0), Alabama Crimson Tide (7-0), Wisconsin Badgers (6-0), and Stanford Cardinal (6-0) representing the cream of the crop. The Boise St. Broncos (6-0) dipped from No. 7 to No. 6, finishing just one point shy of tying the Oklahoma St. Cowboys (6-0).

In other changes, the Auburn Tigers (5-2) and Washington Huskies (5-1) moved into the Top 25 at Nos. 23 and 24, respectively. They replace the Texas Longhorns (4-2) and Baylor Bears (4-2), who dropped out following losses.
