2011 NFL Power Rankings, Week 7: Steelers Slowly Climbing Back Into Contention

The Pittsburgh Steelers are on a little bit of a roll right now, and they continue to climb up into the upper echelon of the SB Nation Power Rankings.

SB Nation just came out with their Week 7 version of their 2011 NFL Power Rankings, and the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to climb back into the contender conversation. After two straight wins they are now ranked 8th in the latest edition of the poll.

We thought they would be falling off this year after the Week 1 blowout to the Ravens but they've responded winning four of their last five. As usual, the defense is dominating.

The Steelers needed to take some time to get healthy, something they might not be finished with in fact, but they are starting to play the football that we are accustomed to seeing from them. Rashard Mendenhall finally got back to running downhill and the defense, as mentioned, is starting to play up to the potential we know they have. As Ben Roethlisberger continues to get healthier, and as more people return to the lineup, this is a team that can only get stronger.
