Devils Vs. Penguins: Pens Lead 1-0 After First Period

The Pittsburgh Penguins struck first against the New Jersey Devils. At the 6:07 mark of the first period, Jordan Staal scored on a power play goal. Devils Zach Parise was hit for two minutes for tripping Penguins Chris Kunitz to give the Penguins a power play opportunity, to which Staal took advantage.

Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury stopped all 13 Devils shots in the first period to help keep the Pens 1-0 lead. The Pens will enter the second period will all the momentum and will continue to take advantage of Devils back up goalie Johan Hedberg, who's playing in the place of an injured Martin Brodeur. The Devils trail, despite out shooting the Pens.
