Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 9: Which Steelers Can You Pick Up Off The Waiver Wire?

Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown stepped in for Hines Ward and performed admirably on Sunday, can they do the same on your Fantasy team?

The Pittsburgh Steelers threw the ball a lot on Sunday against the Patriots, and if that trend continues, that's good news and bad news for those who own Pittsburgh players on their Fantasy teams. If you have Rashard Mendenhall, then it's bad news because he might not be getting the rock so much moving forward. But that also means that there could be some good players available that may help your team late in the season.

The first place to look is at the wide receiver position. Hines Ward missed the game against the Patriots, and in his place Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown had very productive days. You already know about them, it isn't anything new. But they aren't owned in a lot of fantasy leagues because they weren't big names coming into the year. If you can still pick them up, they can provide a nice little boost to your team.

Sanders is projected by NumberFire to put up only six points, but a receiver just needs to have one touchdown to have a pretty good day. Brown is projected to get more points of the two (7.73), but I think they are pretty similar plays.

Steelers tight end Heath Miller might be a smart pickup too, if you need a bye-week replacement for your starter. Miller has always been more of a safety blanket then primary option, but he's good for a touchdown here and there, and he might get one while he's starting for you.
