Penguins Schedule: Pittsburgh Kicks Off Busy Week Against Colorado On Tuesday

The Pittsburgh Penguins are coming off a pretty tough 5-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes over the weekend, but they'll have the chance to make up for that game in spades when they play three games (two on the road) this week.

The first game is at home against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday. Despite unimpressive scoring and defensive numbers (17th in goals per game and 25th in goals against) the Avalanche have found their way to a 8-8-1 record overall on the Season and have only six fewer points than the Penguins.

After that game the Penguins hit the road for a brief tour of the Southeast that starts on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tampa Bay has a pretty explosive offense, averaging 2.8 goals per game, but their defense (where they rank 23rd in the NHL) leaves something to be desired.

Then the penguins will head South to face the Florida Panthers on Saturday. The Panthers flaunt one of the top-ten stingiest defensive units in the NHL, and the fourth most effective power-play unit. Their overall record on the year is 8-5-3.

We'll have more on all these games at SB Nation Pittsburgh. But for more info on the Penguins and all their opponents, head over to PensBurgh.
