Kent State Vs. West Virginia: Mountaineers Fall In Second Half

The West Virginia Mountaineers took on the Kent State Golden Flashes this morning, tipping off at 10:00 AM. The 'Eers started off with an early 4-0 lead over Kent State and maintained that lead all through the first half of play. Aaron Brown and Kevin Jones lead the way for the 'Eers in the first half to a 33-28 lead, scoring seven and five points, respectively.

Unfortunately for the 'Eers, they couldn't hang on to the lead. Kent State went on an 11-0 run early in the second half to take a 47-41 lead over the 'Eers before they could answer back on the scoreboard. Kent State was led in the second half by Chris Evans and Carlton Guyton. Kent State held their lead after going on their run, never allowing the Mountaineers to get within any less than 4 points. It's a tough loss at home for the 'Eers, who now even up their record to 1-1.

Jones led the way for the 'Eers in the game, finishing up with 15 points, 18 boards, and two steals.
