College Football Schedule, Week 12: Rutgers Battles Cincinnati For First Place In Wide Open Big East

Rutgers hosts Cincinnati, while Louisville travels to Connecticut with bowl eligibility hanging in the balance.

The race for the Big East title and a BCS berth became wide open last week when Cincinnati was upset at home by West Virginia. In addition to losing their grip on first place, the Bearcats also lost their leader and dynamic quarterback Zach Collaros. With Collaros out, Cincinnati travels to Rutgers with Munchie Legaux under center. The Scarlet Knights are 3-2 in conference and have an opportunity to take a share of first place. Kickoff from Piscataway is scheduled for Noon, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN U.

Elsewhere in the Big East, Louisville travels to Storrs to face the Connecticut Huskies with both hoping to stay in the wide open race for the conference crown. Both the Cardinals and the Huskies are 3-2 in conference, but this game sets up as an elimination game with both teams entering Saturday with five losses and bowl eligibility in the balance.

South Florida will host cross-state rival Miami in Tampa. The Bulls are 5-4 and looking to become bowl eligible after crushing Syracuse last week at the Carrier Dome. Kick off is set for 3:30 on ESPN U.

Both Pittsburgh and West Virginia are idle this Saturday, as they prepare for the traditional Backyard Brawl game this coming Friday after Thanksgiving.
