Before their loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs over the weekend, the Pittsburgh Penguins had won five straight games and were on a very serious roll. After a few days off to collect their thoughts and rest a little bit, they'll hit the ice again on Thursday in San Jose against the Sharks. The game can be seen on Fox Sports and will start 10:30, so I hope you have some coffee ready to brew.
The Sharks are 6-4 on the season and boast one of the most impressive offense/defense combinations in the NHL, ranking No. 9 in goals scored per game and No. 13 in goals against average.
As for the Penguins, they made a roster move this morning, recalling defenseman Alexandre Picard from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, according to Penguins.com.
A 6-foot-2, 220-pound blueliner, Picard has appeared in 236 career regular-season games for the Philadelphia Flyers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes and Canadiens. During that time the Gatineau, QC native has collected 19 goals, 46 assists and 65 points.
We'll have plenty more on this game throughout the day, but for more on the Penguins head over to PensBurgh. For more on the Sharks, check out Fear The Fin.
