Pitt used a 17-7 run to end the first half to open up a close game. The Panthers lead at halftime 42-30 against Oklahoma State in New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
The team is being led offensively by, you guessed it, Ashton Gibbs. Gibbs has 12 points already and scored eight of the team’s final 13 points. As a whole, the Panthers are shooting the ball well. They hit nearly 60 percent of their shots and nine players have scored at least a bucket. Power forward Nasir Robinson chipped in with eight points.
Pitt is also doing well on the boards. leading 19-9 in that aspect. Talib Zanna, Nasir Robinson, and Lamar Patterson each have four to lead the team. Both teams have taken care of the ball, combining for only five turnovers in the first half.
