2011 Penguins Schedule: Pittsburgh Heads To Carolina On Saturday

The Pittsburgh Penguins have one game this weekend, against the lowly Carolina Hurricanes. Could this serve as a trap game after the win over the Capitals?

The Pittsburgh Penguins are coming off a 2-1 victory over the rival Washington Capitals that had to feel pretty good considering that they've lost a couple close games in the past few weeks. This could be the kind of win that proves to spur the Penguins on for a nice little stretch of games. Their first opportunity will be on Saturday when they head to Carolina to face the Hurricanes. That game can be seen on ROOT Sports.

The Hurricanes rank in the bottom third of the league in both goals per game (2.4 - 23rd) and goals allowed per game (3.3 - 29th). They also are near the bottom of the league in power play percentage and power play kill. Perhaps that is why they find themselves with a 8-15-4 record overall. They're also coming off a loss to the New York Rangers.

We'll be covering that game on SB Nation Pittsburgh, but for more on Pittsburgh hockey, head over to our Penguins blog PensBurgh.
