2011 Penguins Schedule: Pittsburgh Heads Up North To Winnipeg

The Pittsburgh Penguins will head North, and a little bit West, on Friday to take on the Jets in Winnipeg.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are coming off a a nice win against the Chicago Blackhawks earlier this week, and they'll have a little bit time to rest this weekend after their game on Friday night. But they will have to travel, as their next game is in Winnipeg against the Jets. That game starts at 8:30 pm and can be seen on ROOT Sports.

The Penguins lost to their Jets in in their only other meeting this year, also in Winnipeg. The jets scored two goals in the first period in that game, including one just moments into the contest, so it will be important for the Penguins to set a good tone in this one with a strong start.

The Jets have a pretty good offense, ranking No. 12 in the NHL with about 2.8 goals per contest. But their 20th ranked defense (2.9 goals per game) is their Achilles heel.

We'll have plenty more on this and every Penguins game here on SB Nation Pittsburgh, but for more on all things Penguins hockey check out Pensburgh.
