The Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim have agreed to terms with free agent Albert Pujols on a 10-year contract that's reportedly worth $250 million to $260 million.
↵Naturally, that's great news for the entire N.L. Central, including the Pirates, who Pujols terrorized for a decade. For his career, Pujols has hit .365/.451/.681 against the Pirates, with 48 homers in 633 at bats. That includes five homers against Ian Snell, who seemed to delight in throwing fastballs right down the middle for Pujols to crush.
↵Pujols has only hit more homers against one other team (the Cubs, with 53). At PNC Park, Pujols has hit .376/.452/.718, with a ridiculous 29 homers in 354 at-bats.
↵As a baseball fan, it's sad to see Pujols leave the team that drafted and developed him, after an amazing 445 home runs in 11 seasons. As a Pirates fan, though? I'm breathing a sigh of relief.
