NCAA Basketball Rankings: Pitt At No. 4

The Pitt Panthers rank No. 4 in this week's AP basketball poll. The Panthers dropped two spots after losing to Notre Dame last week. Ohio State remains in the top spot. Also topping Pitt this week are Texas and Kansas. Texas has three losses, including one against Pitt, but has been reeling off one impressive win after another, knocking off previously-undefeated Kansas, toppling No. 14 Missouri, and twice blowing out No. 16 Texas A&M. Kansas has a much less impressive schedule than either Pitt or Texas, but still only has one loss on the season.

Notre Dame and Kentucky move into the top ten this week. Here are the rankings:

1. Ohio State

2. Kansas

3. Texas

4. Pitt

5. Duke

6. UConn

7. San Diego State

8. Brigham Young

9. Notre Dame

10. Kentucky

Further down, West Virginia sneaks back into the poll at No. 25 despite a narrow loss to No. 15 Louisville last week. Penn State, which has played surprisingly well in a tough conference schedule, is in the "others receiving votes" category.
