The Trib reports that Pittsburgh Marathon organizers are advising those considering running to register before all the spots fill.
↵↵ "People who want to get into the half should do it now," race director Patrice Matamoros said. "There's currently very little shelf life left on that registration, and I would say within the next two weeks it's going to be sold out" ... Matamoros said about 1,000 spots remain in the full and half-marathons, with each race being about 90 percent full. That's up 20 percent from where they were in mid-February 2010. There's a cap of 18,000 entrants for the marathon, which will be on May 15 at 7:00 AM (6:00 AM for walkers). Last year there were 16,000 runners, and the event organizers intend to eventually raise the cap to 35,000 entrants. The half-marathon is typically the first event to reach capacity. Interested runners can visit the marathon's website to register. You can check out a map of the marathon route here↵
