2011 NFL Draft: Cameron Heyward Could Be Steelers' Pick

The Trib suggests that the Steelers could select Ohio State defensive end Cameron Heyward in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Heyward could fall to the Steelers in part because of torn ligaments he suffered in the Sugar Bowl:

Heyward recently received clearance to start running and doing some light weightlifting. But he will still be limited during Ohio State’s Pro Day at the end of March because of the length of his recovery process.

That may cause Heyward to slide in the draft, especially since it is such a deep class for defensive ends.

Yeah, no kidding. In addition to Heyward, there’s also Clemson’s Da’Quan Bowers, UNC’s Robert Quinn, Missouri’s Aldon Smith, Wisconsin’s J.J. Watt, and several others. If Heyward doesn’t fall to the Steelers, perhaps another will. If the Steelers can’t find a cornerback or offensive lineman they like at the end of the first round, a defensive lineman is certainly a possibility.
