Brian Angelichio Lands On His Feet At Rutgers

Former Pitt tight ends coach Brian Angelichio, like Pitt's other assistant coaches, was out of a job with the departure of Dave Wannstedt. But Angelichio has now landed back on his feet where a few other Panther coaches have gone - Rutgers.

Greg Schiano at Rutgers is glad to have him aboard:

"Brian is a great fit for our football family," said Schiano. "He has a bright offensive mind and has demonstrated an excellent ability to recruit and develop players, something that is a staple of our program."

Angelichio is the third Pitt coach to head to Rutgers, joining former secondary coach Jeff Hafley and offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti, Jr. He says the feeling is mutual and he's ready to get started:

"From competing against Rutgers and Coach Schiano for the previous five years, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the tradition he has built at Rutgers," said Angelichio. "I am excited to contribute to the program and help win a BIG EAST championship."

Most of PItt's former assistants under Wannstedt have found other jobs.
