Pitt continues to be ranked at No. 4 in the latest AP college basketball rankings, behind Ohio State, Kansas and Texas. Ohio State remains undefeated and has a hold on the No. 1 overall ranking, at least for now. Behind them are Duke, San Diego State and Brigham Young at Nos. 5 through 7, respectively. It surprises me that SDSU and BYU are ranked so high when neither really plays any good teams except each other, but I suppose their gaudy won-loss records (SDSU, for example, is 23-1) impress people. I wonder how any number of teams in the ultra-tough Big East (Pitt, Villanova, Notre Dame, UConn) would do if they had SDSU or BYU's schedules.
West Virginia is at No. 25, a ranking that they'll surely lose thanks to their loss to Pitt last night. Another local team, Duquesne, appears in the "others receiving votes" category, with one vote.
Here's the full top ten:

2. Kansas
3. Texas
4. Pitt
5. Duke
6. San Diego State
7. Brigham Young
