Nationals Vs. Pirates: Kevin Correia, Bucs Try To Pick Up Second Straight Win

After beating Livan Hernandez and the Nats on Saturday night, the Pirates play the second matchup of a three-game series against Washington at PNC Park on Sunday at 1:35.

Starting for the Nats will be Jason Marquis, who has posted three straight quality starts to begin the season, against the Marlins, Mets and Brewers. Marquis has posted uneven results throughout his career, mostly due to his issues with walks, but so far this year, he has kept the walks under control. (No pun intended.) About half his pitches are fastballs, and he also focuses heavily on his changeup and slider, as well as a cutter. His stuff is mediocre, and he tries to succeed by keeping the ball on the ground.

The Pirates' starter is Kevin Correia, who this year has posted great results in five starts, including a complete game in his last outing against the Reds. He has only 12 strikeouts and seven walks in 29 innings so far this year, however, and he'll need to improve those numbers, or complete-game victories will get tougher to come by.
