The Pirates will attempt to recover from an ugly collapse on Saturday in their Sunday rubber match against the Chicago Cubs.
The Pirates won the first game of the series on Opening Day and looked poised to collect another win Saturday until Evan Meek, Chris Resop and the Bucs' defense allowed the Cubs to score five late runs, resulting in a 5-3 loss.
Sunday's game, which begins at 2:20 PM, will feature starting pitchers Ross Ohlendorf and Matt Garza. Ohlendorf gained some unfortunate press for winning his arbitration hearing this offseason despite a 1-11 record in 2010, but he's better than his won-loss record suggests. The Cubs acquired Garza this offseason in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays, for whom he recorded 150 strikeouts and a 3.91 ERA in 204.2 innings in 2010.
After their series against the Cubs, the Pirates will travel to St. Louis for three games against the Cardinals.
