Pitt Football Recruiting: Panthers Pick Up Twin Wide Receivers For 2012

The Panthers and head coach Todd Graham reaped some benefits from a big recruiting weekend when twin brothers Demetrious and Chris Davis verbally committed to the Panthers for 2012. Both reportedly had approximately 20 offers from Division I schools such as Oregon, Boise State, Arkansas, West Virginia, Iowa, Purdue, UCLA, Oregon State, Iowa, Minnesota, and several others.

Many of Pitt's earlier recruits were not highly rated, but the commitments of Chris and Demetrious should help relieve some concerns of fans. Neither are top of the line recruits by any stretch, but both are rated as three-stars by Scout and Rivals. Both are also a bit undersized at under 6-foot-0, but are speedy receivers who may be a perfect fit for Graham's up-tempo offense.

The Davis brothers are expected to both continue their careers as wide receivers according to the Post-Gazette article. Their addition gives Graham a total of nine verbal commits for 2012.
