Kellen Clemens finally replaced Rex Grossman as the Washington Redskins’ quarterback, but the Redskins kept moving the ball against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third quarter of their preseason game.
New Redskins running back and former Penn State star Evan Royster continued to get carries in the third quarter, and now has rushed seven times for 34 yards.
One highlight for the Steelers was an awesome tackle of Roy Helu Jr. by first-round pick Cameron Heyward. Heyward basically pulled Helu down by the jersey in an impressive display of strength. Also, with the Redskins in the red zone, Stevenson Sylvester ripped through the line and mauled Clemens. After an incomplete pass to Leonard Hankerson, the Redskins had to settle for a field goal. After an unimpressive performance by Shayne Graham in the first half, the Redskins turned to Graham Gano, who hit a 32-yard field goal to put the Redskins up by a score of 10-7.
