Duquesne Basketball: Bill Clark To Play In France

The Duquesne Dukes website is reporting that recently graduated guard/forward Bill Clark has signed a contract to play for Fos Ouest Provence Basket of the French Pro B League.

Clark finished his Duquesne career ranked among the school's all-time top 10 in eight statistical categories, including games (second, 126), three-pointers made (third, 227), three-point attempts (third, 657), points (seventh, 1,628), free throws made (seventh, 369), free throws attempted (seventh, 517), rebounds (10th, 680) and starts (10th, 100).

Clark was a hard worker off the court as well. He earned his undergraduate degree in corporate communication in just three years, and spent his final year in school taking classes in the sports leadership graduate program.

Fos Ouest Provence Basket has competed in the Pro B League since 2009-2010. Last year's team reached the French Championship semi-finals.

"Playing professionally is a goal I've always had and is something I've worked hard to achieve," said Clark. "I'm looking forward to experiencing a different culture as well as taking advantage of the opportunity that lies ahead. I plan to continue working hard and improving and seeing where that leads."

A very interesting fact is that Clark becomes the eighth member of 2007-2008 squad to sign overseas joining Kieron Achara, Aaron Jackson, Reggie Jackson, Shawn James, Kojo Mensah, Gary Tucker and fellow Class of 2011 member Damian Saunders. That team was able to break Duquesne's streak of 13 consecutive losing seasons.
