Well, that didn’t take long. The LSU Tigers are already in front of the West Virginia Mountaineers, leading by a score of 7-0 early in the first quarter.
A personal foul penalty quickly undid WVU’s opening drive, and the Tigers took over at their own 42 yard line a minute and a half into the game. Jarrett Lee hit Rueben Randle for a first down, then threw a 30-yard pass down the sideline to Odell Beckham a few plays later. That set Lee up for an 11-yard touchdown pass to Randle with a little more than 10 minutes left to play in the first quarter.
A tough task for WVU just got tougher – they’ll now not only have to continue to try to stop the LSU offense, but will also have to score at least twice against the Tigers’ ultra-tough defense.
